The band PREMA first formed in 1989 in Yardley, PA, in the guitar players (Dougs) barn. The 12 year old band members were heavily influenced by sXe bands like Gorilla Biscuits, Youth of Today, Judge, and other NYHC acts. The original name of the band was CONCERNED (Straight Edge) but shortly after the addition of its new singer, Mike Corcoran, the band changed its name over to PREMA. "Mikey" was a devout Hare Krisna, and his influences changed the band lyrically and spiritually. All of the original members were sXe vegetarians that loved skateboarding (doug actually had a half pipe in his basement).
